About us
Garry has over 30 years experience as an avid angler and hunter. He started at a young age with his parents teaching him and his siblings the everyday fundamentals of hunter safety to respecting nature. Garry also started to learn to trap and harvest furs with a friend and it did'nt take long for the rest of the family to follow suit for the next 18 years. Once out of high school, Garry managed a mining exploration crew in the prospecting bush camps of Northern Ontario and Quebec for three years. He also worked for Ducks Unlimited as a project operator maintaining and constructing wetland projects. When ever he has the chance he spends a great deal of time pre-scouting for moose or heading into remote lakes for walleyes and trout. Garry currently works for a Fire Protection company in Timmins, Ontario and this frequently brings him to remote bush camps for forestry, gold and diamond mines. Today, Garry's passion for bowhunting and angling is also being shared by his wife of 13 years, Lisa and daughter Daphne, who is 11 years old.

I have been bowhunting over 32 years and have been successful in taking numerous moose, deer, bear, turkey, timber wolf and numerous small game as well. The hunt that I live for, is undoubtedly moose, but with my wife and daughters bowhunting as well, the bear hunt is a great family hunting adventure that I wouldn’t do with out.
As an ardent outdoorsman, I have held 4 separate registered traplines at different times in northern Ontario for close to 20 years. These traplines would cover well over 400 square miles of wilderness combined.
As a certified International Bowhunter Education instructor, I enjoyed traveling across northern Ontario teaching fellow hunters the ins and outs of the sport I hold so close to my heart.
Moving to southern Ontario has given me the opportunity to travel the 3D archery circuits and in doing so, I have picked up Prostaff positions with a bow company and a major arrow company, that I am still with to this day.
I also began to think about sharing my hunts, and hunts of my friends to the world and began a website of my own that showcases real everyday hunters doing what they do best and www.justushunting.com was born and I’m now looking at expanding to cable tv.
When approached by good friend Garry Labelle to be a part of the Outdoor Test Pilot crew, I leapt at the offer, Garry is a good man, with high moral and ethical values that reflect my beliefs. I will help anyway I can.
The Crew
Hunting is now a family affair for the Jones Klan But before a wife and three children, We find Just Carl 8 year old gun in hand, Aiming at a random animal in the yard. Carl Jones remembers his first hunting trips with his Dad and Grandfather in the woods of Canada. He is one of three children in the family and the Only one to really take an interest in hunting. The opportunities to go out with Dad and Grandpa were plentiful Each moment was enjoyed to the fullest. It was In the 70's that Carl left home in Ontario Heading west to take advantage of the oil boom At this time in his life, Carl found his passion for archery. Finding out that he really was not a bad shot. Before moving back to Ontario in 1989, Carl managed to harvest over 100 deer and many bears The odd Moose and Caribou he was hooked for life. Carl's work took him around the world from Africa to New Zealand to every corner of North America. Finally settling down In Edmonton to start a family One can only imagine this accomplished hunter was more Than excited to pass down his hunting skills to a strapping young son The first came in the form of a girl Kaitlin Followed by two more Sierra and then Alannah. Although the Daughters may not have been begging for a bow On their 8th birthday. The Jones Girls were accustomed to a deer or the odd bear hanging in the garage. Carl's middle daughter Sierra gave him one of his most memorable experiences. He remembers one morning sitting at the table and Sierra coming up Out of the blue she said Dad I want to go hunting! After catching his breath Carl did back flips right into the tree stand. The first hunting trip with Dad and Sierra proved unsuccessful. This time instead of Whitetails it was to be black bear. Carl remembers the trip well. He and his 16 year old Daughter were sitting High above a bait waiting for the "Big one" to come walking in Before the hunt Carl made sure he went over all the details. He told his daughter she had all the time in the world. The last thing he wanted was her to rush the shot when not comfortable. About an Hour later a nice bear around 150lbs Came strolling down the hill to the bait He was set up perfect for a great shot. Carl got the whole thing on camera. So from behind the lens he waited and watched and waited and watched For the shot. In about 5 minutes the bear walked off Carl asked why no shot she said that you told me I had all the time In the world so I just waited.. Comments duly noted and the hunt continued. The rest of the evening passed with no action Returning the next day to continue was quite different Not long after getting to the stand a larger boar came down to the bait Sierra felt comfortable and confident. In one clean shot the arrow disappeared into the Bears side, Not long after the Daughter and father team had recovered What turned out to be a nice boar tipping the scales at 165 Sierra isn't the only Jones girl to enjoy the hunting and archery world. The eldest Jones Girl Kaitlin. Was a very accomplished archer winning almost every tournament she entered as a young girl. As did daughter Alannah a few years behind These apples did not fall far from the tree as Carl has placed in the top 10 numerous times at the IBO worlds His best finish in 2003 a respectful third place. Also winning the Provincials many times Followed the Canadian FCA championships every time he had the opportunity to compete. With the Children Now raised and mostly on their own Carl's wife Jacqueline Has taken up the love for the sport. Taking a few bears and a real nice buck first buck every with a crossbow. She now as Carl explains has become obsessive The Joneses Purchased some acres in 2008 Jackie started hunting this year by herself out of a Ground blind First night out she spotted a very nice 8 point buck. To Carl's disappointment she has now taken over the area. He laughs not disappointed really just funny as initially she was suppose to be in charge Of trees and shrubs My job was wildlife.. Seems the delegation of Jobs has changed All for the better as Carl said. " it is amazing to see Jackie trod off into the woods by herself returning to the truck well after dark When she used to be afraid in the backyard" Life is good.. Carl and Jackie and the Girls continue to live in Ontario enjoying the outdoors Like Carl used to with his Dad and grandfather. With a wedding scheduled for July. Carl Finds himself mentoring Kaitlin's new found love. Mike Something I truly enjoy.. Adding as long as he doesn't shoot all the big ones!!

My name is Daphne Labelle and I really enjoy dance, swimming, fishing and archery. The last couple of years I had the opportunity to hunt with my father during the rifle moose hunt and a turkey hunt, which were all successful. My goal is to harvest a turkey with my compound bow, while my father films the hunt.
