Trophy Taker Broad head Terminal T-lock Recently had the opportunity to Moose hunt again in North west Ontario. In the arsenal of hunting accessories was a fine looking Broad head made by Trophy Taker. Most would be familiar with their leading edge rest. First look at this solid looking Broad head made one think..hmm Now there is one tough looking Broad head. Then as you look deeper you begin to see the noticeable benefits that make this Broad Head different from others First look is the non-vented blades making one think this should be quiet! at first shot this is proven. Solid cut on contact point, An angle on the blades that should produce a large entry and exit hole. What really stands out is the T-lock feature. There is no way you are losing a blade out of this small but solid looking projectile. That being said the first week of the hunt brought that to the for front with My not so well placed shot on a respectable Bull Moose. Shot distance 16 yards the shot was a little forward and a little high. Thanks to the performance, solidness and sharpness of the T-lock the end result was out standing. On recovery of the moose it was seen to have an amazing entrance hole and like we thought High and forward Right where you really don't want to hit a large boned animal the size of a moose. The arrow penetrated the shoulder blade near dead center. Shooting an arrow around 275 weighing about 425 grains Kinetic is good but not huge. On the shot on Video the arrow disappears out of sight and is found in the ground after passing through a shoulder blade two layers of hide and a huge chunk of solid meat. Performance? No kidding. The Broad head could have been reshot immediately still sharper than some being sold out of the box. Outdoor Test Pilots gives this Broad head a full thumbs up.
